The combination of seasonal high temperatures in the mid to upper90s and relative humidity percentages will result in uncomfortablyhot conditions across Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valleytoday. Heat Index values are expected to range between 106 and110 degrees this afternoon and early evening across portions ofStarr, Hidalgo, Brooks, Kenedy, Willacy, and Cameron counties.Isolated areas may briefly experience Heat Indices of 111 degreesfor a short period of time.If working outside today, be sure to drink plenty of water, wearloose-fitting and light-colored clothing, and take frequent breaksin air-conditioned locations. Be sure to check on elderly andinfirm neighbors and relatives, provide shade and fresh water foroutdoor pets and livestock, and check the backseat of your vehiclewhen transporting children.
