Priority Pass is a worldwide airport lounge and restaurant program with 1,600+ airport lounges and experiences. Priority Pass has 1,600+ airport lounges and experiences. Typically, most people gain access to the program via credit cards, but it can also be paid for on its own. Priority Pass has three different memberships:
Membership | Price (annually) | Number of visits |
---|---|---|
Standard (for the occasional traveler) | $99 | $35 for every visit, none for free |
Standard Plus (for the regular traveler) | $329 | Ten free visits, then $35 |
Prestige | $469 | Unlimited free visits |
Since its founding in 1992, Priority Pass has expanded to more than 600 cities in 140 countries. Airport experiences include restaurants, spa services, and even gaming areas. Though PP lounges tend to struggle with overcrowding and many consider it more important to hold airline status, having a membership is still an extremely valuable asset.
Priority Pass access in the United States is not the greatest, but Dulles International Airport (IAD) is one of the best. This article briefly covers all of the lounges available to Priority Pass members at IAD. If you would like a comprehensive guide of the lounges at Dulles, click here.
Air France - KLM
The Air France-KLM lounge is a perfect option for early-morning travelers looking for a shower. Of course, it has more than that, but having flown in from São Paulo early in the morning, I used this lounge several times. Priority Pass is accepted at the lounge for most of the day, and it has a decent food selection.

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse was recently re-added to PP access at IAD. Open from 08:00 to 18:00, the lounge offers:
- Alcoholic drinks
- Showers
- Drinks

The lounge offers a beautiful, open space for travelers to eat and relax before a flight. Also located in Terminal A, the Clubhouse has incredible views of the ramp and of the main terminal and control tower.

The lounge has a maximum stay of three hours, and, according to PP, access is only allowed for travelers with outbound flights on the same day.
The Etihad Lounge
One of the newest options at IAD is the recently opened Etihad Lounge in partnership with Chase. The Dulles lounge was the second location to open this year, following JFK in January. Etihad had a lounge at Dulles in the past but closed the space down.
The new, two-story lounge encompasses 5,200 square feet and is open from 06:00 to 22:00. Similar to the Chase lounges, the Etihad lounge has made-to-order food, ready-to-eat buffet-style food, signature co*cktails, and wine, coffee, tea, and other beverage options.
Aside from being accessible to Etihad's premium passengers, the lounge is open to Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers for unlimited visits and two guests. Other cardholders (like Priority Pass) are eligible for one Chase lounge visit per year.
Additional amenities at the Etihad Lounge include reflection rooms and showers, both of which require a reservation. There is also a family area near the bar which features games and a space where children can run around.
Turkish Airlines Lounge
The Turkish Airlines Lounge is regarded by many as the best PP lounge in the US. Though the space is small, it is elegant and has a great food offering. Located in the B Concourse near gate 43, the lounge is open from 07:15-21:30 every day but often reaches maximum capacity, which then opens a waiting list.

LIke the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, all guests are required to show an outbound boarding pass for some-day travel. One of the unique features of the lounge at IAD is the prayer room.
Lufthansa Business Lounge
Lufthansa operates a couple of lounges at Dulles, and the only one open for PP access is the Business Lounge. Though the space is open from 13:30 to 22:00 daily, PP notes that access may be restricted between 14:00 and 18:00 because of space constraints. The lounge features luggage storage, internet access, and food. PP does not specify that the lounge has alcoholic beverages.

Additional experience at IAD
The lounges above are the only ones accessible via Priority Pass, but as mentioned earlier, PP is not limited to lounges. There is one participating restaurant in Concourse C, where United Airlines operates. Chef Goeff's serves contemporary American cuisine, with casual sophistication and generous hospitality.
The restaurant is open from 06:00 to 22:00 daily and is located by gate C14. It is important to note that access may be restricted for American Express and Capital One cardholders. Additionally, Chef Geoff's does not allow PP members to use the credit for to-go orders.

Up until last year, PP members were able to access the British Airways Lounge in Concourse B at Dulles. The airline revoked PP access and now, only passengers flying in premium cabins on British Airways, Iberia, and other oneworld airlines, as well as those with Saphhire and Emerald status can use the lounge.
Passengers flying in premium cabins on Qatar Airways at Dulles use the Turkish Airlines lounge.
