WOOF! Twitter Accounts UW Fans Need to Follow (2024)

Here are the must-follow accounts.

Chris Fetters

With Football (hopefully) right around the corner, the guys at Dawgman.com are gearing up for one of the most important times in recent memory. Gone are UW's starters at quarterback and running back and a couple of the Huskies' impact defenders have declared their intent to turn pro. And obviously, Dawgman.com will have all the breaking news when it comes to whether or not a season will be played this fall in the Pac-12, or any developments that take place.

That said, social networks are a great tool to help supplement the wall-to-wall coverage you'll find here at Dawgman.com. And for those UW fans that have been reticent to join Twitter or get caught up in social networks, there's no better time to tip your toe in the water and see how a network like Twitter can work for you.

Twitter has become the industry standard when it comes to breaking news and quick capsule analysis on the news of the day. To that end, we've compiled a list of must-follow accounts - and not just for football, but also for basketball and Washington Athletics in general.

Dawgman.com (@Dawgman247)

Of course we want all our users to follow our official Twitter account (@Dawgman247). Our account is used for breaking news, pictures and video, as well as a great way to catch up with all of our stories and items we've retweeted of interest.

Chris Fetters (@Chris_Fetters)

Dawgman.com's Editor (@Chris_Fetters), Chris follows a ton of accounts and retweets tons of tweets of interest to UW fans on a daily basis. And then there's the occasional fact or note that pops into his head that ends up as a tweet. And if you like soccer, golf or baseball hot takes, he might have a few of those too from time to time.

He follows the prospects and talks to them on a regular basis, so he will have all the up-to-date news and notes on how the Huskies are doing in recruiting for a particular class, as well as thoughts on what prospects UW is looking at down the road. Scott also covers a lot of the local prospects no matter where they go, so if you are curious about the high school scene and where players end up signing, Scott's account is definitely one to follow.

But Jack is now in line, so he's the one to follow for more UW news on the various teams and recruiting, as well as tweets on Seattle sports.

Greg Biggins (@GregBiggins)

Greg's twitter feed (@GregBiggins) is one of the three twitter must-follows when it comes to the 247Sports' recruiting team. Greg has been covering football recruiting on the west coast since his days with Student Sports in the mid-90's. He handled player personnel for the Nike Football Training Camps for 15 years and also was on the Elite 11 QB Camp selection committee for well over a decade. Greg breaks news on all the top west coast prospects, including a ton that end up signing with Washington.

Brandon Huffman (@BrandonHuffman)

A transplant from southern California, Huffman moved up to the greater-Seattle area in 2005 a couple of years after becoming the West Coast Recruiting Analyst for Scout. It was then where he made the move to National Director of Recruiting, a title he's held at Scout and now at 247Sports ever since. His twitter account is a must-follow for any UW recruiting fan, as well as fans of the local high school scene. As Co-Founder and Director of Media for Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation, Huffman also keeps alive the memory of his daughter Avery, who passed away three years ago after a brave battle with brain cancer. If you are interested in helping support the fight to defeat DIPG, Brandon's twitter account (@BrandonHuffman) is also a must-follow.

He's become an indispensable part of Dawgman.com's recruiting coverage, especially with the resurgence of Washington's presence in the islands. His twitter account (@bangulo) is a must-follow because of UW's emerging footprint in Hawaii, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. His analysis of the prospects from these states is second to none.

Ryland Spencer (@RylandSpencer)

If you want to follow one person when it comes to Washington prep football, Ryland's twitter account (@RylandSpencer) is a virtual treasure trove. No one watches more games in a season than the lead writer for Cascadia Preps (@CascadiaPreps)on the 247Sports Network. He's also a consultant for Russell Wilson's QB Academy, so he has that going for him too. And if all that isn't enough, food and hockey hot takes put his account over the top. Follow him before it's too late.

That's what makes his twitter account a must-follow - especially if you love other Seattle sports too. There's no shortage of opinions, hot takes, and retweets of other important Seattle sports news.
